The MS2020 system control unit is designed for use with commercial satellite earth stations.

The unit can be built into the system during initial installation or added to an established system.

Fully configurable equipment and switch groupings. 1 eight switch; or 8 one switch systems (or any combination in between). Built-in VGA display reflects system configurations. Monitoring is performed using equipment alarm contacts and switch tellbacks. Full event log available locally or remotely.

Inputs

  • Mains power: two IEC inputs
  • Switching power: provided by external redundant supply
  • Standard +24V DC (4A) other switching voltage options.
  • System inputs: alarm and tellback clean contact connections via 9 way D type sockets (tellbacks), 9 way D type plugs for alarms.
  • Ethernet/WEB 10baseT operation via RJ45 connection.
  • Extra inputs, digital or analogue inputs are available, the state of each can be displayed and alarm levels set.
Outputs
  • Switch control up to 16 switching actions controlled- HPA and/or LNB systems
  • DC voltage or pulses used to activate switches
  • 9 way D type socket
  • Amplifier mute- hard wired within unit
  • LNB power +18 Volts available to power up to 8 LNA/Bs alarm windows set and failures identified for each unit
  • Summary Alarm clean contact for the system alarms
  • PC Alarm clean contact for the MS2020 alarms
  • Alarms- audible & visual alarm indication upon failure of any unit within systems


Operation:

  • System program running under Linux operating system
  • Local control and monitoring via built-in VGA display
  • Control via built-in keypads and screen pointer
  • Remote all features and facilities via Ethernet and WEB
  • Log download and software updates via floppy disk or Windows network (via Ethernet)
  • Auto for all units within redundancy group automatic changeover is performed
  • Manual control performed using the VGA and keypad
